I loved so many things about this book! The characters were delightful and I loved the exploration of their relationships. The lore and worldbuilding were amazing. My only critique is that in the latter half of the book, it feels like there are revelations and plot points that are unearned or rushed through, probably to keep the book from getting too long (since at 800 pages it is quite lengthy). If this book was a series of multiple books with the plot a bit more evenly distributed across them, it might be a series of 5/5 star books for me. Still, I loved this and will gladly revisit it.

brothers, i felt like chewing through a wall multiple times over the course of this book and i still do after finishing it i fear.
the pacing was odd in places, but i tell you now these pathetic lesbians had me walking laps of my room while gnawing at my hands. their equally sopping wet rat friends (affectionate) also had me kicking my legs and giggling on occasion, platonic love endures.
i finished this behemoth in less than a week so i will be spending the foreseeable future face down on the floor while i decompress from it.

easy writing, females in power, good characterisation/romances and I didn’t even mind the slow pace buuuuuut the finale and every battle scene were a bit underwhelming
A richly realized world with complex and interesting characters. Everyone's disparate beliefs shape their actions and relationship but are all eventually shown to be incomplete as the truths that were lost over a millennium resurface.
Very enjoyable. Despite the epic story, we stick close to our characters the entire time with the drama in their life having equal importance with the apocalyptic main threat of the book
