I have been looking forward to Cordelia and Aidan's story since I read Murder List. It did not disappoint. Aidan has known Cordie nearly her entire life. She has been in love with him for about that long. When she decides to find her mother after her father's death, Aidan is there. Every step of the way. And when her life is threatened, he steps in to protect her. But in the process, he falls in love.
Aidan starts to realize his feelings for Cordelia almost from the beginning of the book. When they go to Australia together, they become lovers, and this goes on throughout the book. I love seeing jealous Aidan, and I love how out of control he is when it comes to Cordelia's safety. He can't stand the idea of her getting hurt, and I love how protective he is. I also love that Cordelia fights him on it. It was such a great read!

This book was awful. DNF because I just didn't care what happened to these people. I have it on audiobook and would have stopped it sooner but I was bored in my car sitting in traffic. Julie garwood used to write great stories and I probably read 10 of her books that I've really liked. Unfortunately that is in the distant past. These characters were whiny and boring with no chemistry. The narrator also had a really annoying voice and her seemingly exasperated tone bothered the hell out of me. So unfortunately I will not be reading garwood again.
Not much development when it comes to the protagonists relationship. The story focused more on the crime/suspense aspect.
OH MY GOD!! I had been waiting for this book since I read [b:Murder List|107769|Murder List (Buchanan-Renard #4)|Julie Garwood|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1388196261s/107769.jpg|2604140] and [b:Fire and Ice|3407345|Fire and Ice (Buchanan-Renard, #7)|Julie Garwood|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1386921826s/3407345.jpg|3350474]. I can't believe we finally have a story about Cordie and Aiden.
This book does not have as much action as the others because Aiden is just an attorney, I guess, though there are some FBI agents involved.
We get to see Regan, Sophie, Spencer, Walker, Alec and Jack again and that's great. I love all of them.
I think this story was inevitable and it's kinda painful how much time it took for Aiden to realize his and Cordie's true feelings - thank God he wasn't late.
This book is amazing, I truly loved it.

Dead dad. Best friend’s brother, long-time crush. Car expert. Australia and luxury hotels.
Cordelia gets the shock of her life on her father's deathbed. He reveals that the mother she always thought died when she was a little girl is actually alive and had abandoned her and her father when Cordie was a baby. Unsure of what to do with this information, she finds love and support from her lifelong friends.
Aiden has always been Cordie's idea of Price Charming. The older brother of her good friend Regan, he's never known about Cordie's crush on him. He offers to fly Cordie out to Australia where her estranged mother lives, so Cordie can get some form of closure from the situation.
Things begin to heat up between the two of them, and their attraction for each other is undeniable. But is it all just temporary? Or can they really be the true thing? All thoughts of love have to be put on hold when an attempt at Cordie's life lands her in the hospital and all fingers point to a mother who never wanted her to exist in the first place. Now Aiden takes it upon himself to make sure Cordie remain safe.
This is the first book I've read by Julie Garwood. I know that sounds almost blasphemous, but it's true. She's been on my TBR list for a long time though and when I saw this title available on Netgalley I thought I would give her a try finally.
I understand that Fast Track is part of a larger series by Garwood, but despite this fact, I was not lost at all. This book reads like a true stand-alone, and while other characters have appeared in previous books in the series, Garwood does a great job explaining who they are without bogging down the story with complete recaps of who they are. We get just enough to understand.
For all that this is a pretty quick read, I felt like it took a while to get to the main point of the story. Because I this I felt the beginning dragged a little. Only when Cordie gets on to her mission of finding her mother and the trouble that ensue's does this change.
Also, the relationship between Cordie and Aiden seemed a little flat. Told in multiple third person points of view, when we are reading through Cordie, we get her thought on Aiden and her feelings. The times we read from Aiden, he doesn't reveal much. It made me wonder how he thought of Cordie in the first place. Wonder if she was just a convenience like she at first imagines she is to him.
I did like the small glimpses Garwood would give readers from an outsider of the relationship, such as Regan's husband Alec. It was interesting to see the Cordie / Aiden situation from his point of view.
Overall, I thought the story followed a predictable pattern. That didn't mean it wasn't enjoyable. Sometimes it's nice to just sit back and relax enjoying something that truly isn't going to stress out your senses.
I definitely want to give something else by Garwood a try. Possibly one of her historical romances.

Amazing book. Loved the romance and mystery in the book.
Good beach read type book. Easy and predictable.
