and there it is the final volume and I can safely say I'm totally satisfied with this ending! such a great series, all the back and forth at first was getting to me but overall the story was next level!

I loved this!! I know a lot of people felt the insanely happy ending was a cop out but I feel like we earned it after all the pain. Only wish we could get a sequel where Takemichi/Mikey passes the power onto someone else!

In the final volume the plot is resolved in the showdown between Takemichi and Mikey. The two fight in a climatic battle, blows going each way. At one point Mikey knocks out everyone.As Takemichi still fights on, we learn through several flashbacks of what lead us here. All of this began years prior. Mikey reveals to the reader that an inner darkness has plagued him, and that he continuously chooses the dark path. This is made clear by a revelation from another character. Sazma and another prior Black dragon. Shinichiro had changed the original time line. In that version, Mikey, while playing around with a model airplane falls down the second story. Putting him in a vegative state. Four years later(2004/5) when our story oringally begins Mikey dies. Not sure how to handle this Shinichigiro goes out drinking and hears tale of a homeless man who claims to be a time leader. The homeless man refuses to give up his power. As such shinichiro kills him.But before his final death, the man curses him. He is able to save Mikey, changes the past. But in doing so, he alters the future. A dark presence follows Mikey and all those who care to save him/help him. Regretting his actions, Shinichigo sees a group of kids fighting, but one boy trying to protect them. Admiring his gusto the power is given to Takemichi. This connects Takemichi, Hinata, Kisaski and Shin together. Shin dies later at the hands of Kazutora when he leaps into the future again. The curse begins. Mikey in the present unleashes the full darkness and kills Takemichi. But with his tears revived him. They both time skip to the past as first graders and make a better future. The ending is a bit rushed at parts. Th redemption of many major characters seemed a bit much. However, this forgets the major theme of the series of change. Through multiple try's the future was made to be a better brighter place. The reflection of Mikey and Takemichi as two halves is fitting
