I had been on a streak of picking up mafia-romance books that I didn’t enjoy, but I actually found this one quite enjoyable
It’s not significantly different from Neva’s other books, but I liked the characters and how the romance and story developed.
Seeing glimpses of characters from the first generation definitely added extra points.
What I didn’t like much was that Vasilisa was portrayed as very much the “I’m not like other girls, poor me, no one takes me seriously because I’m pretty” type. I felt it was unnecessary.
In my opinion, Neva’s writing has improved quite a bit. I’m not sure if I hadn’t noticed it in previous books, but the first thing I noted was that it no longer felt like reading a Wattpad story.
It’s a strong start for the second generation; honestly, I expected less, so it was a nice surprise.
