5* read - I loved this so much more than Greed's story!
4/5 for the spice in the spicey scenes.

For one, the characters are delightful! I already loved Gluttony in the previous book (and in this one we meet Envy), but seeing him as "sad boy" (as the FMC Katherine lovingly calls him) is just so cute! And true. Gluttony is so much more haunted than the other two before him, and it's a story of depression/ issues around self worth with a love interest who is a virgin, yes, but isn't "first time sex and I'm taking the tree trunk up the derriere" type scenes. The smut and the slow-ish burn are FANTASTIC.
Also really loved the politics here which touch on populism/ mass movements and how easily mobs are riled up. That secondary arc spanning the larger series picks up a little speed here, but the book is a standalone.

The pacing and story structure is just so much more appealing than the last book. Where Greed's story was one of miscommunication, constant similar struggles etc, this one is much tighter and I though more mature, in the sense that while characters are absolutely plagued by self-doubt they do talk, or at least huge problems don't arise from (too) stupid actions etc.

No pregnancy scares, disabled MC, delightful spice, a tortured soft monster and blood - what more can you ask for. It's going on my re-read list for sure!
