Absolutely harrowing. The chapters are quite short which makes for a fast read. I had to put it down at some points because the content was just too horrifying. 

"I loved my mother because I didn't know I had a choice. I had to love her."

This was an incredibly hard book to read. Absolutely heartbreaking. My rating is based on how the author told the story and how much research must’ve gone into it. I felt that he did a good job representing the girls and what they went through growing up. It is NOT based on the horrific abuse.

Very slow but good
