This book was okay, I enjoyed some of it while others were slow. I also thought Maritza should have asked Kris about living with her before sooner, instead having to wait until half away through the book almost til the end to find out how Kris gotten Maritza when she was a baby.

I loved Lauren’s other books, so I was really excited to get this one. It was so boring, predictable, and just all around blah. Really disappointed in this one.

Fun and fluffy, but overall forgettable story. Pick it up for the romance angle and not a look inside the foster care system because while Maritza’s situation turned out just peachy, for many it does not.

I loved Maritza and her snark through the chapters. She has a very strong sense of self, even when shes lost and feeling alone, she knows she doesnt want That. The book is very cute and I will for sure read it again, my only wish is that it was longer. Then every single character and situation couldve been even more fleshed out.

A quick summer beach read is how I would describe this. I love to sit by a pool during the summer and this was the perfect story to dive into poolside. Expecting a bit deeper on the foster care, child neglect I was surprised she sort of zips through that and concentrates more on Ritzy’s adjustment to living with her rich foster mom. I can see that appealing to those teenage readers wanting more of fun storyline and less thought provoking or triggering. I really had fun reading this and zoomed through it way to quick. I loved all the characters and I liked how it wasn’t really focused on the romance bit. It was present for a lot of it but it didn’t feel overbearing and all in composing like most contemporary YA.

Better Than The Best Plan by Lauren Morrill came into my life at the best possible time. I was coming off of a longer, more involved sort of book and really wanted to read a book that would absorb all my attention. This book did that! It absolutely grabbed me immediately and I am so thrilled that it did. Read my full review here

"They took me in when my mother walked out on me, and even if she can dress it up as trust and freedom, it still feels like abandonment."
