Magic and political intrigue. An interesting combination but the execution unfortunately wasn't perfect. A lot happened, but at the same time, very little. I would have liked some more background information. Nevertheless, an entertaining book.

I got this arc in exchange for a honest review.

I gave this book 3 stars. I was hoping it was going to be more because it sounded great when I was reading the synopsis of the book! I was super intrigued and the cover definitely helped with that as well.

While reading the book, I noticed some spelling errors and while that doesn't deter me and knock stars down, what did was that they kept spelling the main characters name in different ways. I don't know if it was just my copy or if it was others as well, but they kept going back and forth between "Sondra" and "Sandra" and while that's not a major thing, I fell like if it's a main character, they should have the spelling down.

I did like the premise of this book and what happened. I'm intrigued to see what will continue to happen.

I hope that we get more back story because it occasionally felt like I was missing key parts of information. The book wasn't terribly long, and that could be part of it. Maybe if it was longer, it would have gotten higher stars cause we would have gotten more description on things happening.

Thank you Book Sirens for the book!
