Welp. I finished this in ONE sitting. I just couldn’t put this book down! Alessio is a mafia boss with no commitment to anyone but his club. Now that Ayla entered his life..he can’t let her go..ugh this book was emotional and raw and so good! 4.5⭐️
“He didn’t know that he already brought me peace. What he just gave me was more than I could ever ask for. He didn’t know, but he was my peace”
“I saw trust in the depths of her vivid forest-green eyes. Ayla was waiting for me to take her pain away.”
“I like looking at you. I find that I can’t take my eyes off you when we are in the same room”

***AUDIOBOOK***
Really good start to the trilogy. I’m completely invested in them as a couple, and I’m loving the world she created.
The single narration is not my favorite, especially the male version.

I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars, so I'll be nice.
Hmm....what to say......this was semi-interesting, and fairly irritating. I don't know if this just wasn't my genre or what. The characters sometimes felt like a bit much, and quite a few times I found myself rolling my eyes. It was a quick read, so I stuck with it, but I don't know that I'll continue on with the series. This ended on a cliff-hanger, but I'm just not that interested in what happens.
If you're curious about this and it sounds good, or if you really like this genre, then you'll probably enjoy it. Otherwise, I don't think I'd recommend it. Oh well, at least I'm closer to meeting my challenge!

really good. i'm a huge fan of mafia romances but rarely find ones that i fully enjoy, so discovering this was so great. alessio immediately captured my heart and watching him slowly come to terms with his emotions was beautiful. in regards to nikolay, i literally gasped out loud at the ending, but i am so intrigued by him. the only thing i will say is that it was a little bit overwhelming when it came to some of the flashbacks/more traumatic scenes.
I actually have a headache from this book.
This book was such trash, but I kept reading anyways. It's like junk food, you know those cookies are bad for you, but you eat them anyways, savoring their divine goodness, but once the rush is gone, you regret your decision.
Yeah, that describes my experience with this book.
Nothing about this book screamed MAFIA. It's just a book about lust. The writing was very mediocre, which limited the story...
I like the idea of this story? The execution...not so much?
Alessio is the big bad boss of the Russian Mafia, but damn, he felt like a 15 year old lovesick puppy the entire way through.
