that 193 pages feels so longggg wth. i had roller coaster of emotions for this one and i do relate a lot to the main character. the reason why this isn't 5 stars is because there's a lot of yapping i couldn't stand & my attention span isn't attention span-ing HAHAHAHHA (it's a me problem) this book honestly questioned me the real happiness and worth of living—on how events changes quickly.

Emil Sinclair is a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion". Sinclair's entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: that of illusion (maya) and the real world (spiritual truth). Accompanied by Max Demian, he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self.

✨ "It's so good to know that there's something inside us, and that it knows everything, wants everything, and does everything better than we do!"
🍃 '.. whatever you wanted strongly enough happened.'
🌿 'When someone needs something and then finds what he needs, it is not chance that put in his hands: rather 𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛, 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙, 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙞𝙩.'

“Most people love only in order to lose themselves”
