Pro-tip: Do not binge the series, all books are good, but repetitive and need time in between!
Throughout the Wicked Villains series I have loved Aurora’s character, she is arguably the most diverse out of the cast, which is why I suppose her story disappointed me. I felt as though there was so much build-up to her relationship with Malone that this last book just didn’t hold up to.

Oh, this was so emotionally satisfying!! Aurora hates Malone because she blames her for her mother’s coma, but when Malone offers her an assignation for the last two weeks of her deal with Hades, Aurora sees it as an opportunity for revenge. She isn’t prepared for learning Malone is full of nuance and layers, and her feelings to change over those two weeks.
This really feels like a culmination of the whole Wicked Villains series, and works fantastic as a transition into the Sabine Valley series. I loved learning more about Malone, who has always been a bit shadowy, and getting more of the depths of Aurora. This was utterly un-put-down-able and I loved the ending so much. So much good emotional catharsis, and I love how Aurora and Malone balance each other and how Malone gives Aurora a place to be fierce and show her inner fire.
