The revenge plot was overused in this series, but every time it was used, it felt like bills had to be paid. I love how this book handles grief and how enemies to lovers were enemies giving. I got cupid and psyche vibes from this book.

Hm. I thought the premise for this one was going to be really dark - wanting to be with the one who killed her mother, who has been in a comma for twenty years. But it worked.

Slowly revealing more of themselves to each other, learning that they are more than what they show on the surface. It was good.

I wish there was more. The ending just happened. Not much fuss in this one.

I loved this book. It's an easy read. I am not into fantasy so I had to get over that, but it was nice... and spicy. Got me started on other 'similar' books in terms of that.

This F/F installment of the Wicked Villains series focuses on Aurora and Malone. Aurora has been a featured regular throughout the series but Malone has only been mentioned offhand and briefly appeared in The Sea Witch. Their relationship is different to all the others despite most of them also featuring characters needing to come to terms with their partner’s role in the hierarchy of the city.

This has the strongest plot of the series (not super challenging) and I found myself really enjoying the dynamic between the two.

Big trigger warning: the book immediately begins with Aurora taking her mother of life support

Probably my favorite book of the series. I love the push and pull between Malone and Aurora. Aurora's delicate balance between her new feelings and the hatred she's been harboring for Malone since childhood is especially fun to watch develop.

WHAT AN ENDING!! My second favourite in the series? I think?

Content warnings: death of parent (coma; turning off life support at start of book), references to violence and murder, graphic sex, BDSM
