“All I can say is, she's the one I think about. All the time. She's the voice I want to hear. She's the face I hope to see. - Sam Roxton”

This was the cute story Poppy and Sam "meeting" by chance. Brought together under less than ideal circumstances, yet forging a connection through all of it.

Sophie Kinsella did a fantastic job of taking a crazy unbelievable storyline and making it totally lovable and hilarious! This story had it all:

* an unlikely situation,
* a rushed engagement,
* a lost family emerald heirloom ring,
* a stolen (not really since it was in a bin) cell phone,
* a sexy businessman,
* a song gram to the tune of Single Ladies by Beyonce,
* annoying best friends,
* creepy wedding planner,
* genius in-laws,
* and most importantly a sweet love story

There were so many parts of this story that made me laugh. Sophie Kinsella has an amazing writing style that can have me laughing out loud one minute and the next getting tears of happiness in eyes.

“Except...I do. Of course I do. Because as his hands gently cup my waist, I don't make a sound. As he swivels me around to face him, I don't make a sound. I don't need to. We're still talking. Every touch he makes, every imprint of his skin is like another word, another thought, a continuation of our conversation. And we're not done yet. Not yet.”

I felt some story lines had way too much time dedicated to them and not enough romance but it was still an overall good story! I really really want their to be a sequel for I want to get to know Poppy and Sam better. There wasn't a lot of detail on them but what there was I really enjoyed.

“But sometimes you have to be brave. Sometimes you have to show people what's important in life.”

“Whoever it was, whether I knew them or not, if I could help in some way, I would. I mean, if you can help, you have to help. Don't you think? - Poppy Wyatt”

♥I would recommend this novel to others for a light beach read♥

This is the first book by Sophie Kinsella that I really liked. I finished this book in less than 24 hours because I just loved it.

description

What.

What the actual fuck?

Bro, don't even get me started con la cantidad de cosas ilegales que hizo Poppy en este libro y no tuvieron repercusión alguna sjsjs: a) robó un celular, b) se negó a devolverlo y c) se hizo pasar por otra persona. Like that bitch belongs in prison.

En concusión, it was good, but not good enough.

3 de 5 estrellas.

Really Cute, Fun read!

Thank goodness for this book! I've been struggling to find a book that would keep me interested for hours at a time (after reading a hundred pages of several different books, only to drop them when I realized I just didn't care.) Anyway, I read this in one day's time, laughing out loud over and over again. (My daughter thought I was nuts.)

The book focuses on the relationship between two people brought together when our narrator finds a phone in a garbage can. The two strangers proceed to share the phone, in a way. But there is loads more to the book, including a subplot involving a corporate scandal.

Poppy, the narrator, is funny and charming. You can't help but root for her. IMHO, Kinsella hasn't been this good since the early Shopaholics. And who knew footnotes could be so funny?

A fun read and very like Jill Mansell's books which I love. Lots of witty dialogue and impossible farcical situations. Candy-like escape.

It's a very cute book. I'm rereading this after 5 or more years and the fact that I still enjoyed it surely means something.

Although, I do agree that the end was a little weird.
A lot of people were not held accountable, the Tavishes had the audacity to act like they were sweethearts, and the 'friend' did not hesitate to call dibs on Magnus the moment she saw that Poppy wasn't interested.
It was a less than satisfying end on the revenge plot's side, however it also kind of makes sense given how much of a pushover Poppy is. It would have been weirder if she held everyone accountable and confronted everyone, and caused a huge scene a few days before the wedding
(The scene that was caused wasn't that bad, in my opinion)

However, it is a romance story, and BOY was the romance satisfying 😩 there were sweet moments, there was that slow understanding and closeness (not too much of a slow burn, but not insta-love either) and the BANTER! UGH, the banter~ it was everyone I want in a romance (minus the annoying parts about Poppy writing emails in Sam's name without consulting him. I would kill someone for doing that, no matter how amazing they are.😀 Share my phone, fine. But don't you dare change/add shit without asking me.)

Overall, a fun read.

P.S. I also love that it was genuinely funny and wasn't just filled with cliche over used jokes. This was actually a funny romance.

omg this was so funny!!
