Almost impossible to put down. It’s a fascinating peek into American female desire.
Moderate: Emotional abuse and Sexual content

Me hubiera gustado un análisis más profundo del libro, la estructura de los capítulos me confundía mucho.

It took me a while to decide how many stars to give this (tough decisions, eh?!). Going with the lower half of four stars. It did a great job showing how varied female desire can be, and the circumstances that inevitably come along with that. It showcased three women, and while the three stories differ from each other, I'd have loved to see it with MORE women. And of COURSE with non-white women. It definitely lost a star for me by not highlighting any women of color. What I also missed was a further discussion on these issues/this topic. It did this somewhat in the epilogue, but I would've wished that was more of a highlight of the text. Great for starting a conversation, though. I finished and instantly wanted to find people to discuss it with!

It boggles my mind that this book is consistently rated 1 star by people, but something like My Dark Vanessa regularly gets rated 5 stars. (I rated them both 5 stars).
Real life is ugly and gritty and uncomfortable, and if you don't like it, why buy it?
My biggest thought is that this book would be better received if it was marketed as fiction, or if it wasn't marketed as a book about women's desires, despite the fact that it WAS a book about three women's desires (just not ENTIRELY sexual desires).
ANYWAY 5 stars. Writing on point. Life stories on point. Lina made me want to slam my face against the wall so she was written well enough for me to say "girl just go to therapy" fifty times. I finished this last week and I still wake up every morning saying "f*** Aaron" and throwing my heart out to Maggie so I'd say the book achieved what it set out to do.

Brave, but … One of the stories is beautifully rendered and gut wrenching. The other two? TMI. It’s a wildly feminist retelling of three women’s sexual experiences. I consider myself to be a feminist, but since when does feminism require an over abundance of the F word? Granted, the explicit retellings are well written, and more than that, selling …
