I’m so glad I gave this book a chance, because based on a few reviews I was more than a bit iffy on whether I really wanted to read it. I really did enjoy this best friends to lovers romance

Madeline and Griffin have been best friends for nearly 20 years when she asks him to give her an orgasm where she doesn’t care where she is for her 30th birthday. He more than delivers on that gift! They end up becoming friends with benefits for several months before Griffin’s dad dies unexpectedly. As a result of his grief Griffin reacts to Madeline in a hurtful way that causes a significant rift in their relationship.

The physical relationship between these two is intense and he admits that he has been attracted to her since puberty hit and has hidden it from her. Their HEA is sweet more than her telling him she loves him and him saying the equivalent of ok me too. He works on getting his life back together and getting a better handle on his grief before he approaches her to apologize. Things get a little crazy, but he certainly gets across how much he loves her.

This was a steamy friends to lovers romance that was well worth the read! I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was hard to get into at first.  The writing was very choppy and didn’t have a readable flow to it. I was introduced to this book by a social media ad, if I hadn’t been intrigued by the scene provided I most likely would not have known about this book or author. It was a quick read, ok spice, but I’ll forget about it once I get a paragraph into the next book I pick up.

I thought this was a good read. The writing flowed well from start to finish, and I liked Griffin and Madeline together. I was really happy that the shift between friends and more didn't take forever. A lot of times friends to lovers stories are drawn out. I liked Griffin and Madeline together, and I thought they had great chemistry. There wasn't a whole lot of drama to this story, but the situation that starts their conflict was out of left field, and I really wasn't expecting it. Their drama was resolved quickly and the ending was very sweet. This was a first for me from this author, but I would definitely give another read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
