Would not recommend. This book is quite outdated in terms of ADHD research (published 1999, that's 25 years at the time I read this). The author seems to put a massive emphasis on parent-child bonding as an explanation for ADD and seems to go back and forth saying its a genetic/hereditary trait vs not. If you want to help yourself or people in your life with ADHD, there's much better books to read than this one (How to ADHD, Thriving Differently, just a few that come to mind)
Moderate: War
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
In a chapter of the book Maté describes his own childhood story regarding his families experience around his birth during WWII in Hungary and how this affected his time in infancy, by including stories his parents wrote down during the war.luise96's review against another edition
