It’s so slow. The magic is interesting but too subtle, the court and politics don’t feel “big.”

Honestly this was quite disappointing. I suppose the Avlish are the English and the others are Irish. I'm not all that familiar with their history, but that's the vibe I was getting.

And Bridgerton basically

It’s a slow read, picks up in the middle a little but not too much. It’s Bridgerton with social justice. Grumpy/sunshine trope.

so utterly boring, nothing is happening, they are not enemies they are a nuisance at best for 1 chapter, and the political hardships are glossed over. from what i saw from other reviews the ending is not even worth it.
