Released in 2020 and with two transphobic slurs in a ‘queer’ romance novel? This book and the voice of the mc doesn’t feel authentic.

It seems like more research went into cow farming than accurately portraying a queer experience.

I really enjoyed this book, I just don’t like how it excluded trans people from the story and even used extremely outdated words to refer to them.

I have never loved a book more. The main character is so relatable from the Star Wars duvet covers to the gay panic. The character development of Lorna is just perfection and I couldn’t think of anyone better for billie. I truly feel like I’ve made best friends out of these characters.
I originally had this at 5 stars but looking back i have brought it down to 4.25, i loved the lightheartedness and comedy aspect of this book in comparison to my other 5 stars it just feels like it doesn’t really belong. nothing against the boom as i had a hell of a time reading it- i loved it. </spoilers>

A little escapism to a cow farm in the midlands with lesbians. First half was kinda boring but did set up the story, second half was much better and had more of a plot. It was slightly predictable but not in the way which I originally thought which is good.
