So many P&P adaptations are too heavy handed - trying to stick too hard to the specific plot and characters. This was a refreshing take, with the plot and characters updated to make sense in a modern context while keeping the themes of the original.
3.5. I really liked reading about the Canadian Muslim community, and having main characters who practiced their faith, but a long misunderstanding didn’t make much sense and some of the P&P/Lizzie Bennet Diaries elements felt forced.
I’m not quite sure why but every single time I picked up this book, my mind spiraled back to the movie “Bride and Prejudice.”
Awfully ridiculous plot line.. but yet eagerly waiting to know what happens next. Essentially this is an Arabic Hallmark movie spun into a 300 page book.
Nevertheless, I can’t help but love the small fragments that relate to Pride and Prejudice.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I could not put it down!
I started this book yesterday and finished it at like 2 am this morning because I just had to finish it!
I loved these characters and the misunderstandings just broke my heart!

This book was an absolutely delightful re-imagining and modernization of Pride and Prejudice. I had a extremely difficult time putting it down and would definitely revisit it again.

Jalaluddin took Austenian concepts made them her own and crafted a fantastic story of love and its tribulations
