I loved this book!! It was so unique to read this 'pride and prejudice' type story from a new view. The characters where interesting and there was more going on than just 'boy meets girl, boy likes girl'. This book had a lot to offer!

This was cute. I didn’t originally see the connection to pride and prejudice until about 75% in the is a VERY similar scene that feels very Mr. Darcy and the language borrows from Jane Austen.

I think this is one of the best contemporary retellings of Pride and Prejudice out there. The essence of the original Austen novel was of course romance, but at it's centre was also social commentary. I believe that Jalaluddin managed to capture both elements within this book incredibly. The enemies to lovers trope was executed in a believable way and I think was enhanced by having both perspectives. There was also an array of current affairs and social issues discussed and presented throughout this book in a very real way which I very much appreciated. Overall this was an excellent homage to a classic while still entirely capable of standing on it's own two feet. Will certainly consider reading more from this author despite this not being my normal genre of choice.

This was a great book! The beginning was a bit rocky for me because I couldn't find time to sit and read a lot at one time, but the rest of the book was fantastic.

This was a very refreshing Pride and Prejudice retelling. Instead of copying most of the original story, this book took its own path with some smaller references and plot points similar to Austen’s work. Most of the characters were fleshed out and complicated, and the romance had good chemistry. I enjoyed learning about Ayesha’s family and their struggles moving and living in Canada, as well as Muslim Indian culture.

*3.5/3.7

It was cute! You can tell this is her first book, but Uzma Jalaluddin is hilarious I loved the book. I want to read more of her work, but will probably not go back to Ayesha At Last. It still healed something in me though.

Okay this is my first halal love story abd that’s fantastic but I really wanted MORE from this book. I feel if could have been better in numerous ways. Too teenager despite being about two late 20s adults. On to the next!
