I will say this until my last breath: The Starless Sea is one of the greatest stories of all time. The story-within-a-story nature and the confusing elements that come together to create a tapestry of character and emotion is just amazing. Morgenstern has honed her ability to create characters of incredible depth, characters that pull you in and make you a part of the story.

I am so disappointed in this book. I absolutely adore the Night Circus, so I was excited to see what else Erin Morganstern could come up with. I got lost in this one — and not in a good way. It seemed like she bit off way more than she could chew. The plot was overly complicated and yet moved at a glacial speed. There was no goal and the ending barely wrapped up anything. Such a bummer.

Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I LOVED it. Will definitely read again.

I understand nothing but yet loved everything.

+++ Bonus points to an entire cast of fantastic narrators, though the Sweet Sorrows guy is the stand out.

Cute little fantasy. Well written but I never felt deeply invested. Fun and interesting characters. Like the multiple books within the book concept. Well crafted
