Reading all the Dear Americas and Royal Diaries (53/63)

Another I read close enough to the start date of my goal that I'm counting it. I remember loving the desciptions of food in this one - girl knows what's important.

Cute but ultimately sad story about an orphan girl on the titanic. Rated low because of the semi creepy romance between her and one of the crew members. Read for the nostalgia.

So amazing! I loved this book as a child, and I still love it now that I am an adult. This book is hauntingly beautiful. It is tragic. I love learning about the Titanic, and this book has great pictures at the end. This is a great series, and I recommend these books to anyone.

I really love the Dear America books and this one is no exception. The retelling of a young girl’s experience on the Titanic, while fictitious, is based in history and really gives you a sense of how frightening an experience that was. There was a bit of goofy foreshadowing that as an adult I thought was silly but probably didn’t notice at all when I read it for the first time as a kid.

I loved both the Dear America and Royal Diaries series from Scholastic as a 90s tween. Now, I'm in my 30s and still adore the books! I have several of the Royal Diaries on my bookshelf. This the first at my attempt to read all the titles I missed.

I love anything Titanicas a kid and this was no exception.
This novel also gave me very unrealistic ideas about romance as I was just dying for a kiss such as Robert gives Margaret.
Pity he died. Sort of 1997 James Cameron shadowing

Good introduction to the Titanic for 5th / 6th graders.
