Medstar 1 has an interesting premise (M*A*S*H but with Jedi) that it entirely wastes by being a meandering series of scenes about a gang of stock characters.
Absolutely nothing really happens throughout the entire book, and what little plot and excitement there is seems to happen either entirely offscreen or happens around the main cast of characters. There's no central force of drama, no real character driven plot beats. Just a lot of people saying war is bad, and descriptions of viscera and surgery.
The writing relies way to much on replacing common idioms with star wars words, which makes certain passages just totally obtuse.
