OHMYGOD I JUST WANTED THE MC TO DIE LIKE 101% OF THE TIME I WAS READING THIS (more like skimming, tbh). I wanted to like this book so much. I really enjoyed the first two and I was legitimately interested in Brock, as he seems so very sweet and logical. Unfortunately, the fmc in this book is the most annoying and manipulative person I have ever read about. She has issues from her traumatic past, totally understood, but the way she forces poor Brock to deal with her temper tantrums and extreme changes in her actions is ridiculous. I sincerely wish I could've finished it but it was just too irritating to continue.

While Brock had my heart from the opening pages, Claire left me wanting to smack her upside the head. However, the deeper you get into her backstory the more you understand just how fragile she is. Brock has his own skeletons in his closet that will break your heart. Apart they are floundering but together they are strong. Cannot wait for more in this series.

This actually 3.5 stars for me. Ugh Claire, sooooo annoying until the 70-75% mark. Brock, amazing. Wish I saw the others more, but I understand the need for them to heal privately. But dang I just missed the others so much lol. Can't wait for more tho!

Loved Brock, he was pretty much perfect. Absolutely hated Claire. She almost made me not want to finish the book, ridiculous. I get she has issues but we all do, she just was super dramatic. And sweet/perfect Brock did pretty much everything right. The ending made me not hate her as much, but still. Blah. If she would've been different the book would've gotten more stars, also the editing was awful.
