Ahh! So happy to see more of DC's queer characters getting their own space to be fully developed. There isn't really much to say about this volume simply because it solely focuses on building up Jackson Hyde as the newest Aquaman. I can't tell you how important is to not only see a queer character, but a Black queer character be front and center in this story. There are some other great appearances from Teen Titans. There is clearly someone in Atlantis attempting to set Jackson up so I'll have to keep reading more issues to figure that out. Overall, I really enjoyed it and the artwork was BEAUTIFUL and full of vibrant and rich colors.
Okay, first I have to say: this cover is so beautiful! Love that DC is giving their queer characters more space and development. Great first issue, can’t wait for more.
It gave a lot, but it didn’t do a lot for me though it was a solid issue and I look forward to the rest of the series.
