This book is everything I ever wanted out of a supernatural romance. I love how most of the book leads you to suspect someone else and then REALLY throws you for a loop. "Penny Talbot" is such an interesting Character and Bo is probably my new book boyfriend. Gotta love the tortured soul of a love out of reach am I right ladies? The very last chapter, Land and Sea, made this book for me. It was written in that painfully beautiful way that very few authors seem to encompass. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Una lectura perfecta para leer en la playa! (Y en el verano)
Llena de misterio, amor y oscuridad.
Me sorprendió bastante el final! Estoy contenta con el libro en sí.

After reading Winterwood, and loving it, I tried my luck with The Wicked Deep, which was said by other readers to be better than Winterwood. Truly, there were some similarities to them at first, but, as the story progressed, the more bewitching it became in its own way.

First of all, I loved the story. But what I really, trully enjoyed was the fact that it was unexpected and unpredictable. Here I was, accusing this girl and that girl for being one of the sisters, but the revelation of the real culprit was mindblowing (I did not see that one coming!). Also, the character development was just spot on. And, in the end, this tragic, beautiful, bewitching story just made sense, as everything came together.

In addition to the enjoyable story, the writing was excellent. The story was kept in a fast pace and it never really got boring or too draggy.

And now, it's time for the "bad" parts. Which aren't many, but I feel like I should point them out anyway. Like I said, there were some similarities to Winterwood (and yes, I know this one was published before it), like the lonely girl living isolated along with her mother, who's not really there, and they both have something odd about them. And then, there was the repetition of things on the same page, which I've found somehow annoying, but that's just me. Also, about Bo, he kind of gave me a chilling vibe. I mean he wanted to (spoiler about the ending ahead)
Spoiler kill the girls without even thinking twice about it. And I couldn't justify him doing so because he was grieving. No, there was something dark about it. Not to mention that he stayed with the girl, Penny, even though she reminded him of his true love. Did he really love her or was he using her for her image?
Spoiler So, overall, four out of five stars.

I like the concept of this book at first because involves witches, small town, and mystery, but it disappointed me. I wanted more of a folklore type of story but I just got a normal YA book. The story is predictable, I've guessed all of the plot twists before I even reached half of the book. The love story is not convincing, the leads don't have chemistry at all. And the ending is bad and disturbing.
