I always love a good Harlan Coben - his characters are somewhat caricature-like but it works because it defines each character well within a short space of time, allowing you to get stuck into the action. Myron Bolitar is a fun character, but here, he was asking all the right questions until about half way through the book when the plot twist started to surface, and then he completely ignored that line of questioning. That was a bit of a let-down for me, but otherwise an enjoyable crime-quest that was quick and easy to read - compelling none-the-less. Wouldn't be my top pick of Coben, but a nice read when you know what to expect.

This is the first Harlan Coben book which I'm not terribly enamoured with. It's the second in the Myron Bolitar series, which has the disadvantage of having the horrible Win in it as a side character. To be fair, as he doesn't get top billing, he doesn't get the opportunity to be overly annoying, he just conveniently kills a few baddies. The story was written in the 90s and it shows. Also, I couldn't give two hoots about tennis. Nothing makes much sense, but for the first time I realised a twist faster than the main character.

I find it funny that an author called Harlan Coben invents outlandish character names like Napoleon Dumas, Windsor Horne Lockwood III and Myron Bolitar, then makes fun of their outlandishness, as if to say I got a weird name but look, these are weirder!
