I think this is meant to be satire, parodying common super hero tropes. But I think in trying to be overly corny, it just fell flat.

I had a hard time deciding how to rate this. I generally love Margaret Atwood, and there was some lovely art here, but ugh, the story. The final straw for me was the villain saving his simple four-step plan on a USB device, basically just so the heroes could find it.

Glad I decided to pass on buying this one, opting for the library instead.

enjoyed this story by an author who I had not expected to write a graphic novel

Goofy and silly. Moira would have choice words about the entertainment at the Catastrophe.

Atwood had a motive to write this comic - there are numerous reasons laid out as to why cats should be kept inside. Data and resources are included. It is blatant in its motivations. Not everyone is going to love that.

But I did.

The storyline, characters, love story, etc., are very comic book, of course. Nothing too deep. But it is all really about her message.

If Cats the musical was a graphic novel it would be this...

This graphic novel seems more like a gimmick type gift to give to a friend that likes cats than a serious series. It has poor characters, plot holes (like where did Raven man come from? Why should I care? ok, now there is a bat-cat VAMPIRE man? Why are half-cats both human and cats? Shouldn't cats be called half-human and humans be half-cats?), and VERY clumsy story telling. This isn't very good but I can see where someone could find it amusing and the art work is nice and obviously someone took some time and effort to draw it out. ~Ashley
