I was looking to read an adorable YA book with love able characters and this book truly hit the spot. I feel in love with Rowan and Neil. The writing in this book was lighthearted but not in a way that made the plot or characters feel inferior. Even the supporting cast was entertaining. Half way into my reading I discovered there is a sequel and I am so excited to follow these characters.

fav quote - “…you are the best thing about this city. You are going to be the hardest to leave. I love you so much.”

The only reason I didn’t DNF this book was because I bought it and books are expensive so I have to finish them to feel like I didn’t completely waste my money. I could not stand Rowan throughout this book and the writing felt maybe a little too immature for me (even though I usually like YA romances). I also had tried to start this book 3 separate times and just could not get into it.

Aside from knowing that this book is academic rivals to lovers, I pretty much went into this book blind and I really recommend doing that. I loved every aspect of it. From the writing and assassin game plot, to the characters and the trope, this book served.

Rowan and Neil are absolutely everything. Just top-tier characters. I loveee their dynamic. and the LOVE CONFESSION?!? it took me by surprise.

• Enemies to Lovers
• Time bound, about a day
• Jewish MCs
• Queer side characters
• MCs love reading!
• Swoony slowburn
• Hilarious banter
