I had to keep taking breaks since this topic is so heavy. This wasn't the ending I expected but I'm also not surprised. It was written very well. I appreciated the child's perspective. It made this awful topic more bearable. I think if I weren't dreading a description of someone getting beat or dying, I would've read it a lot faster to really stay involved emotionally but I just couldn't. I also appreciated the child's pronunciation of the Fury and Out-With. It made it more genuine and added to the naivete of the character.

Reading this from a child perspective certainly was something. The innocence is captivating

Wonderful book. Written from a boy's perspective. Very moving and innocent.

Okay, the story was good, the characters were a little bland. I really don't understand how Bruno, a 9 year old could be so clueless. Like it's seriously annoying how he doesn't pick up on anything.
That ending just threw me so bad. I kind of sat there for a while with the book closed.

Heartbreaking to see this story unfold through the eyes of a 9 year old. Powerful all the same.
