I’ve been super hard to impress, but I couldn’t have really asked for more from this book. The story was well-developed, in particular
the chapter where Marx dies was maybe the best thing I’ve read, ever. Profoundly beautiful and beautifully profound.

They lost me a bit at the end there, to be honest. It kinda petered out, but I still adore this book and will read it again (and likely catch details I missed the first time).

This was the most beautiful story of navigating relationships, loss, and life. Creatively told and flawlessly executed. I️ could read this again and again, and definitely will!

This is the most human book I’ve read, by far.

This was so beautifully written. Video games to Sam are books to me. Loved this.

I didn’t know anything about this book going in, but I had high expectations. As a gamer, I loved that aspect. It’s full of nostalgia for old games and simpler times of my childhood.

However, I feel like the book kind of wrapped up in the middle and from there until the end it felt really dragged out. I couldn’t sense where it was going and was left a little disappointed with where it did go.

The concept is clever and there such strong character development in the first half, but it feels the second half was almost rushed to be finished.
