I picked out the Gray Back series because I enjoy paranormal romances. I was looking for something light and entertaining. Gray Back Bad Bear fits that description. The story follows a group of dysfunctional bear shifters. The main characters are Matt, one of the bears, and Willa, a self-proclaimed nerd. I enjoyed both characters. The only thing I disliked about the audiobook was the voice Mackenzie Harte created for Willa. I found it somewhat irritating. Other than that, it was a quick, fun listen.

Yay!

Matt has been a complete mass since the beginning of the Saw Bears series! We have seen glimpses that he can be good but this finally makes you see the full picture! This makes me so happy for Matt and Willa is just freaking awesome! I love her and she is a perfect match for Matt with her smartass remarks and she fits in great with the Gray Backs by not taking any crap and dishing back anything that they try to give her. So excited to keep reading this series.

Great start to the Gray Back Bears series. There was way more to Matt than his man whore ways, he just desperately wanted to find a mate to fix his bear. Willa was one hell of a woman. Nerdy, feisty and hilarious, she might be my favorite female mate so far in the Damons Mountain universe. I loved the connection and friendship that quickly formed between Matt and Willa. They had playful banter and a believable connection inside and outside of the bedroom.

"That's not fair. You have heightened senses, and that is private information. Use your spidey senses for good, not evil, Matt."

"Welcome to my humble abode. If the campers a rockin', please come a knockin'. It means I'm chocking or something and not actually having sex."

"Her, Willamena Madden, awkward, clumsy, piccolo-playing human was shite at swimming and an unintentional prude to boot, had captured the curiosity of an infinitely sexy, playboy grizzly shifter."

Steamy. My friend Nat told me to read these books. And honestly I thought they sounded ridiculous. (But who am I to turn down a book recommendation.) And there definitely is a level of "seriously." But it was a really fun read. Fast paced and interesting. I was not expecting that ending! I'm intrigued to see where the story goes.
If you don't like books with graphic content this is not the series for you. But if you don't mind. Definitely give it a go.

The whole "fated mates" thing can feel a bit too heavy and angsty in these books, especially if you read them back to back like I tend to do. This installment lightened the mood with more smart-aleck banter between the hero and the heroine than usual.

DAMON’S MOUNTAINS SERIES REVIEW

I wasn’t planning on reviewing these books at all, but given the fact that I’ve been completely OBSESSED with them for the past month, it feels wrong not to write something. So in the end I decided to write a general series-wide review that I’ll put up on each book because that’s how much fun I’ve had reading these.

Let’s do this.

OKAY listen. These books are straight up trash. They are. Romance drama trash to the max. But there’s no denying how freaking entertaining these things are. They’re hilariously funny, extremely cute, filled with action (some more than others), and packed with grade-A soap opera drama. Some of the novels are better than others, but if you need to go brainless for a while and just read something fun, these are the books you need.

All the characters are out-of-this world awesome, but the real thing that sets this series apart is the world building. Joyce has created such an elaborately rich universe with all these characters and I am 100% here for it. I love love love how everything overlaps and that we get to see all of our favorite characters even long after their books are done.

To help keep everyone straight, I even created a family tree spreadsheet like a NERD (Willa would be so proud) which you can view here. Just beware of spoilers.

Nerd alert!

FINAL WORD

These books are insane trash and I’ve loved every second. If you’re needing some laughs and romance, look no farther my friends. It’s worth the Amazon Kindle Unlimited free trial just to get your hands on these.

So, I had a cold. I could focus on nothing else...so I figured why not grab a T.S. Joyce book? Brain candy very efficiently carried me through sinus pressure and headaches and I came out alive on the other side. Yay for books! :-)

(No, I don't recall anything about the plot. Why do you ask?)
