For some reason I thought this was going to be more of a mystery. But it was actually a ghost story, and not a very interesting one at that. I found the story quite shallow.

If I could give it three and a half I would. The ending was a bit of a let down after such an atmospheric first half.

Erik Larson is really good at nonfiction. But this Agatha Christie meets paranormal wasn’t very good. And there were weird descriptions of women. Parts of the book were extremely boring and then you get to an action scene and it felt disjointed, like you missed something.
