easily one of the best children's books i read when i was younger. this is a book i will be buying for all of my friends kids. does an incredible job of teaching kids about advocating for themselves and supporting each other at the same time!

A really good kids book

Such a charming middle-grade book with lovely themes of friendship, teamwork, and cheering on others.

home for break and looking at my old bookshelves - this was one of my favourite books ever as a kid. hope i can pass this on to a niece or nephew one day <3

This is such a fun, sweet, and exciting story! We loved that the story was told from 4 different perspectives.

There were a few things we had to stop and discuss while reading, but overall I think it's a great family read aloud.

Topics we discussed:
- One child frequency shares what he thinks the afterlife is like.
- There are many instances of lying, stealing, and cheating.
- The death of a child is discussed as well as a serious accident.

This is a great middle grade level novel!!! It sort of reminds me a bit of Charlie and the Chocolate factory (mostly because of the setting and the candy names) and it's a little like the Westing Game (from a mystery/twists and turns stand point).

First off, I love the fact that the book is written from all 4 kids perspectives but instead of going back and forth as the story is told, the first half of the story is told 4 different times, each one from a different kids point of view and each time it reveals more of the whole story. I love how surprised I was once I got to the second part of the book when Miles began to tell his story and there was so much that was explained from his version that I had no idea from reading just Logan's point of view. And Daisy and Philip also add so many twists when their stories are told as well! The fact that the story is written in this way makes for a unique read that I think really gets the reader to think differently!

I also really enjoyed how this book dealt with serious topics (lying, death, living life to the fullest, letting your circumstances change you, working as a team, being who you are, and so many more) without dumbing them down or shying away from them. Not all characters make the right decision at every step of the story but they do want to do what is right in the end, even if it means giving up on their long held beliefs or dreams.

All of the characters are great and really well written but Logan is just fantastic! He's been through a horrible accident and yet has not let it shape him in a negative way. He focuses on things he's grateful for and does what he can to enjoy life to the fullest!

Lydia: I would definitely recommend this for her to read, probably between 10-12 years old since all of the main characters are 12 (well, for the most part

I'm certainly beyond the target audience for this book, but I read it along with my 9-year old daughter, and I have to say that I was totally engrossed. The multiple PoVs give it a sophisticated feel and the quirks of the characters really sucked me in.

I'd probably recommend this even if you don't have a kid to use as an excuse. ;)

Loved it, so creative and easy to read.
