I'm not really sure why I keep reading this series... maybe because I feel like it might go somewhere... but that would mean I'd have to somehow remember what's going on from volume to volume which is tough considering the overarching story is continually broken up with little one-off stories (that are fun in their own right). That and the various players and motivations of said players are hard to keep track of and remember, especially since the main story is splintering which only adds to the fragmented nature of this entire series. I guess I can blame my completist nature for someone sticking around.

Well...that was largely terrible. I mean, yeah, the various guest artists are lovely. But a prose story written in a nearly illegible cursive? Also, this whole witch thing comes out of nowhere and hinges mostly on characters we've never met. And then we're told all the things of import that occur, rather than shown.

Also, every character has basically become an archetype of an unlivable protagonist. And without anything interesting to be said.

The story is moving along, and Fig is finally figuring out who she is and what she can do, Dad is trying to find allies to fight the Conception, and
Spoilerthe return of Harry? Yay.

But not much seemed to really happen in this installment. I mean, it did, but it could've been, like, one chapter instead of a whole installment to itself. And the interstitial stories were nowhere near up to par.

It's time to start moving things along at a faster pace here, guys, and not needlessly drag it out indefinitely.

A gay Goblin saves the day, a stuffed bunny tries to save his home and a band of witches and their witch queen battle an army trying to take over the Summerlands.

And that's just more or less scratching the surface.

Great volume. A lot of things come together in these five issues and it leaves me very much looking forward to the final few volumes left in this series.

Well, I like the witches, the goblins and the side-stories, but I still feel the plot keeps changing every other issue. While I see how the characters' actions and strifes connect together they also come and go as they please, disappearing for long times and then showing back up as if they've been the central plot all along. It feels a bit like I'm watching Bleach again, with old characters and plots being replaced with new ones every time the author get's writer's cramp.

It's not a bad story as a whole I think. The characters are still interesting (even though they disappear into the background now and again) and the settings are colorful, if not consistent.

I really, really hope there is an endgame here.
