This is one of those books I mostly enjoyed for a glimpse into a life very different from my own. If you have any interest in learning what life is like in Iran/Persia (and also an Iranian-American immigrant) this is an enjoyable way to find out.
In terms of the actual story, it was mostly pleasant and moderately interesting. I didn't like all of the choices the characters made along the way, but I did mostly like where they ended up, and what they figured out about family as they went.
