This is a side story and that’s going to be annoying to a lot of people. It’s another tale from Obi-Wan’s journal but instead of being an isolated issue it’s a whole arc.
Sure it weirdly distracts from the main story to basically tell a filler story but I think it works and more importantly I think it’s slightly better than the last arc. It tells a story about an adventure Yoda had before the prequels and some lessons he learned and how Luke can also learn those lessons in his quest to become a Jedi master.
The writers do a wonderful job of having little cameos and Easter eggs to tie into the prequels and even hint at where things are going as they fill in the gaps between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. There’s a very fine line of Luke reading about this journey Yoda goes on even though he doesn’t hear the name Yoda for another few years.

We're starting to drift away form the straightforward, space opera storytelling of the first couple of years--what I appreciated most about this was how Aaron was able to tell a Yoda story to Luke without betraying the fact that Luke doesn't know who Yoda is at the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back.
Still, I'd love to see them go back to a more grounded storytelling approach.

This isn't among the best or the worst of the new Star Wars comics that Marvel has been putting out recently. I found the Yoda story unnecessary, but decently written.
Yoda main story, Leia B story.
The main story is okay at best. I like the idea of switching back and forth between Yoda and Luke in the same place at different times, but the story was dull. I normally will read a trade paperback of this size in one sitting but I actually set it down and left it for a few days.
The B story was far more engaging to read, with fun & dynamic art.
