Sadly, this is my first Meg Cabot book.
I found the entire interaction of the two "lovers" misguided. There was a lack of building to the love and at some point she loosely says, "I'm falling in love and not sure when it happened" when there was barely any connection aside from a handful of conversations. It was more lust than love. And even that was lacking. When she said, "I didn't mind the mansplaining" and then there's the many contradictions relating to alcohol. I was done.
I prefer stories to show more progress of the love interests emotional building relationship and this didn't have it for me. Plus, I'm not an animal person and a lot of the story involves.

Wow I loved this! It was just the right amount of romance and suspense! Hope she keeps the series going!
I don't read a ton of rom-coms but the main female character in this story was just way over the top in her lust for the main point of interest in this book. I just could not get over that piece but really would have wanted to see where this book went otherwise. I just was really annoyed at how much she talked about her attraction to this guy!

2.5. Yikes, this wasn't good. The first half was okay and I generally liked the set-up of the novel. But I was rolling my eyes constantly when reading the dialogue and inner thoughts of Bree. The ending was absurd and over-the-top and yeah just very MEH. Huge disappointment as I've liked all of Cabot's other adult novels.
Little Bridge is Home
Sabrina left New York looking for a new start. Where else would she go, but Little Bridge; a small little island community in Florida nestled between The Atlantic and The Gulf. Everything is going well and her life seems to be getting back on track until the storm of the century heads their way, and the man she was warned to stay away from starts creating sparks in her that she cannot ignore.
