predictable plot, slow painful reading and unimpressive characters.. Ms. Clark could have done better.

Mary Higgins Clark used to be one of my favorite authors. This book either is uncharacteristically bad for her or my tastes have really changed. I didn't like a single character in the book. And it was beyond boring. Almost dnf'd but kept listening for some reason.

Neil's husband is dead from a terrible accident. What bothers Neil is the fact that they had a fight the night before about her running for office. As the people and circumstances of the accident are revealed, Neil finds she is in the thick of a much bigger plot of deception. Wanting to find the truth for herself, she starts to find pieces that just don't fit. Comments that are out of place and a associate of her husband that seems to be on the take. Throw in a Medium that can talk to her deceased husband and the wife of one of the other people that were killed and you have a great mystery.

Mostly boring. Didn't really care who the killer was at any point, most of the victims seemed like jerks (save one, tho that one was also a problematic sort). Not enough tweed or chignons.

I expected this to be a horror book. I didn't like it much tbh, it was boring and the ending was predictable and nothing big.

I was really hoping for more about the psychic part of this story. Found it kind of boring

I was cleaning out my old bedroom at my parents house and found a pile of MHC paperbacks, all unread. Thought some of them would be good for the plane.

My favorite part of MHC is the buildup- the introduction of all the new characters where you wonder which one is the baddie. The climax is never that exciting because her endings are usually very similar to each other. Still. Good suspenseful fun. This one goes into the politics of architecture and land development- interesting stuff.
