Pepper is by far one of my all time favorite authors and not just of the dark persuasion ;-) Having only recently starting reading this genre right before finding Tears of Tess back in March of 2015, I fell in love with Pepper's writing and dark imagination in this book. This was THE book that brought me to her so it will forever be my favorite. I felt for Tess within moments of starting and like everyone else hated and then grew to love Q... This book was moving, powerful and simply beyond words. An absolute MUST READ for all dark lovers!!!
Loved loved this book can't wait for the second one.
*Rereading this again for new release 6/2014*
I will read anything Pepper Winters writes at this point. This book has everything you didn’t know you wanted even down to crushing your soul. Q and Tess for the win.

Well.. I expected more..way more. I haven't read many dark romance but I don't know this one feels.. wrong. I liked it, it was interesting, fast-page, and Q.. yeah.. he's hot.
But the female protagonist! AGH. She's so childish and bipolar and so stupid. Seeing her position you would expect someone better and stronger and way more decisive but she was just.. Tess.
The ending was pretty stupid though, she just came back home just like that and later she go to France back to Q and just like that everything is resolved.
Even though is a lame story, a lame romance with a lame female protagonist I liked Q, he's not as dark as I expected but at the same time he's pretty mess up.
SO.. the 3rd star is for Q.

DNF, officially not a fan of this author. I cannot get into the story or characters and the writing distracts me. It's shallow and just not great.
Thanks netgalley for a free read in exchange for a review. Some people skip through life, lost about what they exactly need. Sometimes life hands you a situation that evolves into what you didn't know you needed. Tess had a good life and she was learning to settle when she was plucked from it, and sent through a sex slavery ring and sold. It took a bit to truly get into what this author made this story into and it kept me guessing until the end. I'm ready for book two! Overall entertainment was my best rating ....five stars.

I read till 51% and then DNF'd this. The first few chapters where sort of okay, after that it's just a lot of bad and disgusting things that happen to the main character.
