I really enjoyed reading the books. It was dark(I actually expected it to be more darker than it was), it was spicy but I wasn’t loving it. I liked tess‘s character development.

I loved this book. Everything about it. It was dark, taboo, gritty and an explosion of scattered emotions. Pepper Winters has a way with writing stories beautifully, almost poetically.

But do not be fooled. There is a lightness to Q but that man is a monster in his own way. There aren't hearts or flowers. There's pain, understanding and a mutual desire to love the darkness that lives within.

Some vibes I did not like... the main characters were difficult to understand... the feelings were twiste... the drama was tense... it was an ok read. Loved the dual talking in the audiobook and the narrators.

Tess was happy, she had the perfect life with Brax, but she wants to spice up their relationship, but Brax thinks it’s fine.
Deciding to let it go, Brax surprised her with a holiday, never did Tess think it would take the turn it did, that she would endure what she did and then realise that she’d been sold.
Arriving to her new home, she can’t help the feelings that she gets from her new owner, feelings and desires that she knew she shouldn’t be having.
Q can’t work out what it is about the new slave that he has, they normally don’t affect him the way this one has something is different about her.
With what Tess did, Q decides that it’s time for her to return home, he can’t continue to control the temptation that she is to him and needs to return to her simple life.
Having what she’s always wanted will Tess be able to return to her normal simple life or will she always crave the life she had with Q.

This book begins with Tess craving more from her sex life: bondage, passion, rough sex. Her bf is ill equipped to give it to her, so it sets us up for the excitement of her being bought by someone who will fulfill her fantasies.

It’s a medium burn.

The conflict doesn’t really make sense but I was into it so I pushed the “I believe” button.

Series like this I’m always really confused how they can stretch things into more than one book but I’ll keep going.

🎧 Audio Review 🎧

I'm on the fence on this one, parts were 4 stars and parts were 3 stars so I'm giving 3.5 stars.
I liked the beginning of this book a lot. I was glued to it in the beginning but then about 1/2 though I started to lose interest then towards the end I was back glued to it again. I liked the characters and their background and history. This is one of those books that I'm having a hard time reviewing without giving spoilers and It's weird to say I liked specific things because of the non-consent thing but I will say that Q, when he lost himself, was hot! The narration was good too!

Pretty gnarly. Not for the faint of heart.
