Gorgeous artwork as always. Just wish we have more story/narrative. The ending was too quick and open ended. Picked it up because it reminds me of Carmilla.

this was such a fun and creepy vampire graphic novel, literally this was everything. i ate this shit up!

the artwork was honestly so well done and i kept showing my boyfriend multiple times how creepy it looked. i don’t usually read stuff with vampires in it but i think that’ll change. turns out if it’s done well, i love a good vampire story. 😂

the atmosphere was also set up really well. the castle was full of weird things and i wouldn’t have lied in that bathtub either, fuck that lol.

my only issue was that it did end really abruptly and i wanted a bit more for it to be a full five stars. it wasn’t my all time favourite but in any case, i did love it and i highly recommend checking this out if you want a quick and creepy, devour in one sitting vampire graphic novel!

Emily Carroll continues to make work that appeals to me personally SO much, full of completely stunning art. The use of color and paneling in this book is absolutely breathtaking, and I was enraptured from the first page to the last. Do I know what was going on at the end? Well, no. But that's one of my favorite parts of Carroll's works--I love the ambiguity and how it keeps me returning to this story over and over again, trying to puzzle it out!! Also obviously sapphic vampire stories are right up my alley, and the balance here between the horrific and erotic is perfectly achieved. While I think I enjoyed the character work and buildup of A Guest in the House more, this is an absolutely striking, vivid story that I highly recommend.
