Empieza bien, y los dibujos enganchan, pero en seguida se convierte en un galimatías sin sentido.

This book is just a whole ass mood. Only reason it doesn't get five stars is because it's so short and I felt like it ended rather abruptly but it's still so good.

and whats the address to this castle? id love to see hot evil woman

The book itself is flawless, in my opinion—a perfectly realized erotic horror short story.

This review instead is about the other reviewers on Goodreads. It amazes me how many people—even published authors!—are willing to put their real name and face to sentiments like "I am docking this book a star because the story is confusing." Note that most of these reviewers clearly realize the story is supposed to be opaque, but because they don't like ambiguity and open-endedness in their art, knock it down a point. Don't get me wrong—I am not stanning this book. If you didn't vibe with it, that's fine by me. But getting mad at work of art that is meant to be deliberately obscure because it is obscure is ridiculous. Book readers always flatter ourselves that we are smarter than consumers of other media; as it turns out, many of us are no different than Marvel fans.

Four reads later I'm starting to think I understand the plot. Mostly, though, it's driven home how gorgeous the art is

Art: A million stars
Story: 3 stars

The story was a little hard to follow and ended abruptly but the art was perfection.

Complex portrayals of sexy monstrous women are really the only thing that matters

Emily Carroll is a gem. This title was visually stunning and the stuff of nightmares. I love her use of colour/mono-chrome here. Carroll's illustrations really sell the bizarre, other-worldly, wrongness of this space -and the determination of the protagonist's quest.
The plot feels like it shares some parallels with Alice in Wonderland, with some Lovecraftian themes popping in as well. Essentially, this title -like most of her work-is about as new wave gothic horror as it gets. If you like cinema like Guillermo Del Toro's recent-ish Crimson Peak or classics like The Others, or literature like Shirley Jackson's Haunting on Hill House or Turn of the Screw, this is the book for you.
