beautiful art and prose but the story was too abstract to make any sense, especially given how the "plot" hits everyone differently. this comic needed more pages to explain what's going on to make the twist impactful. at the end, i was sitting and blinking saying, "i don't get it???" when i arrived at the castle is super gory and bloody—which i enjoyed—so keep that in mind before diving in.

The artwork is absolutely stunning, as is the case for most of Carroll’s works. Unfortunately, (and maybe I’m dense and missed something entirely) I found it difficult to follow the plot. Genuinely, I had no idea what was going on the entire time. Like I said, the illustrations were great and make the book wonderful to look at, but the plot was kind of incomprehensible. Some horror is supposed to be vague, but I thought maybe this was a little too vague.
Dark, erotic lesbian horror and I liked it! I think I was a little confused on my first read so I didn't rate it higher, but it's a quick read and I really enjoyed the style.
