As per all E.M.Carroll works the imagery is beyond amazing ; however, I do wish they had devoted more time to the development of the story as with their other works

the art is really beautiful and fucked in some parts. i love the colors—white, black and red—and the allure of the vampire. the key hole pages are absolutely shocking. but i don’t really get what this is trying to do. i love sapphic vampires and body horror combined though

This book is creeeeepy, I think as far as horror goes this one with both the tone and content manages to make it compellingly scary. So far my favorite of Emily Carroll's work. Also the one with the most climactic and satisfying resolution while still leaving that lingering dread that is so common for those familiar with her work.

The art in here was brilliant! Seriously some of the coolest graphic novel art that I've ever seen. Carroll really has amazing vision and talent!
The story though, was kinda lame. Actually, there was no kinda about it...it was just lame. I love vampire fiction of all sorts, so this was really in my wheel house, but the execution and the rushed storytelling, left me shrugging my shoulders and shaking my head in the end. There was not enough development of the characters or the plot to engage with and it wasn't eerie or scary enough to be effective as horror.
Read for the art, but otherwise this was a pass.

I feel like I didn't get even a third of what the author was saying in this story, but I still loved it! Definitely need to re-read it after doing some research on it.
