This takes place before Network Effect, but there are no spoilers if you read them in publishing order. This novella follows the exploits of Murderbot as it tries to settle into life on a space station but gets dragged into a murder investigation (which it didn't really want to, but as long as it's here it can do the job better than the humans, so....). Expect some familiar humans to appear and join the fun!

The sixth installment of The Murderbot Diaries takes a step away from the big, explosive plotlines. Someone is murdered on Preservation Station, and Murderbot must team up with Station Security (neither of whom like each other) to find the perpetrator.

Compared to the other books in the series, this one is fairly low-stakes. I'm excited to see where future Murderbot installments take this relatable human/robot construct.
