Definitely hot as advertised, but I was surprised at the amount of depth and tenderness in this novella, every so often stumbling across some lovely writing. This is a satisfying, quick read centered on two opposites that come together at a Valentine's Day event resulting in them spending a weekend together for a prize. Despite its brief length, the story doesn't feel rushed and is perfectly paced, and it's fun to see how wonderful central characters Rose and Tyler complement and bring out in each other through their shared time. Tyler does perhaps the sexiest thing I've seen a man do in a romance when he uses his accounting expertise to sort out Rose's finances. Swoon!

Opposites attract in this sweet and steamy Valentine's novella from Eliza McLane.

Buttoned-up Tyler and colorfully chaotic Rose don't appear to be a match on the surface. She's a commitment-phobic, outgoing artist. He's an introverted, happily-ever-after-seeking accountant. But when an algorithm pairs them together and the matchmaking company behind the algorithm offers to whisk them away on a romantic weekend for two with a guaranteed cash prize at the end, Tyler and Rose can't turn the opportunity down.

And, as it ends up, maybe that algorithm is good for something after all.

Buckle up for some forced proximity goodness plus LESSONS.

This novella definitely delivers the bang for your buck.

I received an advance copy from the author. All review opinions are my own.
