I think I’m so disappointed with this book because the bones of something incredible are there, but it was ultimately a letdown. The prose is lovely, the world-building was impressive, and the (incomplete) glimpses we get of the characters are wonderful, but the book as a whole was disjointed and unsatisfying. If the potential of the book wasn’t so good I probably would’ve dnf’d it, and I’m not sure I’m better off for finishing it.

Slow burn perfection!
Cozy vibes with stakes, full of found family and so delightfully queer.

What a hidden find! I stayed up all night to finish it but it was worth it. I do have some questions but maybe they’ll be answered in other books of the series? Even if they’re not this book is great!

I really enjoyed the story and the diverse cast of characters. The world building was also really cool and imaginative, and the story itself was bittersweet. Loved the ending. 

(I would’ve given it a full 5 stars if it had just been proofread a little better. Some of the errors confused or distracted me and took me out of the moment.)
