Wait With Me

Honestly a very good sweet book. There is the lying trope which I don’t usually like, but this author wrote it very well.

Spice: 3/5 spicy, but no kink at all

Wait With Me by Amy Daws was a sexy, fun read! I loved how Kate tried to be stealthy sneaking into the Tire Depot and hung out writing all day. Miles was such an amazing hero. I loved how he accepted and encouraged Kate to write what she loved. This book was such a great read!

On a more personal note, I loved that it took place in my home state. I also found it rather funny that Miles was going on a camping Trip in Golden Gate Canyon State Park, because I read half of this book while camping there too.

Cute lighthearted book. I loved the breaking down of the fourth wall with this being a romance book about a romance/smut writer. It had me giggling at times.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars

Miles was likeable, Kate I wanted to like her so much but I barely tolerated her. She was a bit annoying. The whole lying thing was ridiculous - like bitch tell him your real name, da fuck? And to have her pompous ex expose her like what was the reason? It was drama that could have been avoided.

Dean was right when he told her she was too self absorbed in her book bubble to notice shit bc how can you not know this mans had feelings for you!? And to be like welp now we can't be friends anymore and yet she's living with her ex, I wanted to deck her.

Miles was so supportive of her and he basically gave her her confidence back.

Nothing really stood out in the book. Just your average stereotypical romance book. The main character was kind of annoying and the annoying kind of “quirky”

Thoughts: I did enjoy this! I see that some of these side characters will be getting stories and that makes me so happy!

I was in the mood for funny and sexy romantic comedy with a blue collar hero and Wait With Me definitely hit all of those buttons for me. The hero enacts the cover model multiple times in this book, except he's way dirtier and sweatier Y U M 🔥

I enjoyed this book for the most part, but it didn't blow my mind away. The conflict felt superficial at best, with the heroine, Kate, lying about some things that didn't really sit well with me. Her lies were absurd and her motivation for lying wasn't strong or believable enough for me to justify her lies. I really wish that that hadn't been the main conflict in the story. The hero, Miles, was pretty great, but his jealousy streak and anger went a little overboard at times. When you combine Kate's lies and Miles's anger and jealousy...well, let's just say that the eventual conflict ends up being too cliché. My favourite thing about Miles is how supportive he is of Kate and her career as an erotic romance writer. We all need a supportive person like that in our lives.

If you're looking for a funny and sexy romantic comedy, then Wait With Me is the book for you. This book is a quick and easy read that can easily be finished in one sitting. Despite my complaints about the conflict, the romance itself is pretty swoonworthy, with lots of LOL moments. My advice: don't overthink it like I did and just enjoy the ride.

P.S. The heroine does some of the dirty talking in this one! I only point this out because dirty talking heroines are pretty rare.
