It did get a bit long in the tooth towards the end, but it is a great book and I adored the MCs. I also appreciated the focus at the end on the survivor working through some trauma in their own tome/space, instead of being "magically fixed" by their love interest which is absurdly common. The spicy scenes were sometimes great, sometimes okay, and the dirty talk was not generally my thing, felt very repetitive and a bit cringey. Overall very enjoyable.

Good God, this book is filthy. But in the best possible way. When I started reading, I just saw the high ratings and decided to go for it, expecting a normal KU, 300-page m/m romance.

This book is 736 pages.

At the same time, however, it really flies by. The two main characters (Avi and Kyran) are extraordinarily likable, and I found myself rooting for their love story early. That being said, Nyla K *really* pulled off the enemies-to-lovers trope in a way that, candidly, I haven’t seen in a long time. Usually, the “enemies” part is much lighter than I want it to be and it turns into lovers way too fast. Maybe it was the length that allowed this, but their animosity early on jumped off the page, and for a while I wondered how the hell they were going to turn that around.

Then the sex started, and it was all such a clear, logical transition from enemies to lovers that I was almost surprised. It’s a hot novel, with a sex scene in probably 75% of the chapters, and it was just…very, very good. I originally gave it 4 stars, but who am I kidding, I was racing home to read at the end of the day, so I had to up it to 5.

For the genre, and for the fans of that genre, this is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

I couldn’t see how a University MM love story could warrant 700+ pages and be good. I shouldn’t have questioned it. This book is amazing, I loved it all the way through and the characters in it. This book had me kicking my feet out and smiling so much!

Ok this book was interesting. Absolutely not my usual style but I needed to fix my book hangover from the Green Creek Series so I chose something quick and dirty lol. For the Fans absolutely delivered in that aspect so I really can’t judge this book too harshly. After reading the author’s notes, I’ve come to like it even more. Nyla K almost lost me there with her botched attempts at college football but Avi and Ky were cute so I stuck it out and I’m glad I did; she clarified that she’s a huge NFL fan but knows next to nothing about college football which makes things make SO much more sense. Aside from that, I found the last 12ish% of the book to be really cheesy and corny, so much that I dropped it down a star. I love Ky’s character development but I feel the last bit overdid it a bit with his relationship with his parents and how easily he forgave them as well as how easily he fell back into a routine with Avi. However, I did not go into this book expecting a gut wrenching, literary work of art so I really can’t judge too harshly. Given that I voraciously consumed all 719* pages, I can safely say that I did enjoy this book, critiques and all. If you’re looking for a fun story about two broke college kids finding a way to make a quick buck and then falling in love along the way, this is the one for you.

*for some reason, my kindle version clocks in at 719 pages of story content while goodreads says 546
